Abstract:

This paper provides an analysis of how legacy, and oft en-ti mes defi cient, network footprints fail to provide adequate
support for today’s plethora of real-ti me, mission criti cal applicati ons. The proliferati on of these bandwidth hungry and
network intensive applicati ons oft en demand expansive network reach, beyond the scope of existi ng infrastructure
build-outs. This white paper will delineate how UNSi’s MPLS Exchange Platf orm (MEP) and Extended Virtual
Wide Area Network (evWAN) succeed in elegantly, effi ciently and cost eff ecti vely extending a carriers’ reach; this
concept supports multi ple real-ti me and mission criti cal applicati ons via UNSi’s Enhanced Ethernet Network to
Network Interface (eeNNI), confi gurable for nati ve MPLS, true Layer 2, or standard Dedicated Internet Access (DIA),
with available Quality of Service (QoS) & Class of Service (CoS) performance enhancements.
