Abstract:

Determining application slowness has long been a study of both traffic volume and latency within the transaction. Was there too much traffic on the connection during the time of the slowness or was the sluggishness caused by the response time of one of the end systems involved? Perhaps the slowness was even within the application itself. This document explains how to determine latency from flows on the network which have been captured by the nProbe developed by Luca Deri.
