Are You Protected from Mobile Cybercrime?
In today’s technologically advanced world, everything is connected. Our cars and homes are connected to our phones; tablets, laptops and phones all communicate; and even our TVs can be controlled by tools other than remotes. This is all great in that it makes life easier and boosts productivity at work, but it also creates room for cybercrime.
Not everyone realizes that being too connected can be dangerous. For instance, BYOD policies are great in that they allow employees to use their own phones for work, without any noticeable differences in call quality. However, mobile phones don’t have the same kind of security features as an office phone. This is just one example, and there are thousands more like it which suggests that, while connectivity is great, it also sets your network up as a ticking time bomb when it comes to cybercrime.
Cybercriminals make it their jobs to exploit these unsuspecting users and the weaknesses in their networks. The best thing mobile subscribers can do is be aware of their situation and acknowledge that they could potentially be victims of cybercrime.
