Alcatel-Lucent to Help MTS Allstream Deploy IPTV By Niladri Sekhar Nath TMCnet Contributing Editor Alcatel-Lucent (News - Alert) is set to help MTS Allstream, a Canadian national communication solutions provider and wholly owned subsidiary of Manitoba Telecom Services Inc, for its imminent Internet Protocol television (IPTV
The solution will be based on Alcatel-Lucent’s Triple Play (News - Alert) Service Delivery Architecture (TPSDA) and Microsoft Mediaroom IPTV and multimedia platform. The service will support an increased subscriber base and enable MTS Allstream (News - Alert) to launch in new markets.
Alcatel-Lucent will provide its TPSDA architecture and will be the end-to-end network integrator, with the solution including an IP/MPLS
network based on the 7730 Intelligent Services Access Manager Fiber-to-the-Node (ISAM FTTN).
The solution also incorporates the 5750 Subscriber Services Controller, 5620 Service Aware (News - Alert) Manager and 5526 Access Management System and integrates the Microsoft Mediaroom platform for TV service delivery.
