Parlano Inc., a provider of persistent group chat solutions, has launched MindAlign Mobile for BlackBerry (News - Alert), Windows Mobile and Palm Devices users. This new software provides different groups with topic-based conversation through MindAlign and MindAlign for Microsoft (News - Alert) Live Communications Server environments anytime, anywhere.

MindAlign Mobile allows users to customize their mobile environment based on their preferences and using their handheld devices to join ongoing group discussions without being flooded with unsolicited e-mail or going through email threads. By using this software, users can also choose to receive notifications about important updates on the group discussion while they are offline.

Mark Levitt, VP for collaborative computing and the enterprise workplace at IDC (News - Alert), acknowledges the importance of persistent group chat in helping users with their businesses, even when they are on remote location. He said, “Group chat can be tremendously valuable for keeping sales, customer care, research, IT and other teams connected in real time. MindAlign Mobile means that workers no longer have to cut the MindAlign cord when they leave the office."

MindAlign’s persistent group chat is backed up by Nokia (News - Alert) Intellisync technology to provide proven messaging services between server operating systems and handheld devices. The software also has security features to protect the privacy of the users by encrypting the data being sent to the mobile network. In addition, users can chat with their contacts on other networks like Yahoo!, MSN, and AOL (News - Alert) using the software.

Bob Serr of Parlano CTO believes that the new service will meet the needs of users. "Some estimates show mobile knowledge workers growing at a rate of more than 50 percent. We've liberated the mobile worker, further extending the enterprise and enabling MindAlign Mobile users to easily and efficiently participate in group dialogue wherever they are in the world, while maintaining MindAlign's full security, presence and persistence features."

MindAlign’s persistent group chat’s features also include automatic reconnect when mobile signal goes off. It allows the chat flow to continue so user will not miss any important information. In addition, MindAlign Mobile uses existing mobile infrastructure in sending and receiving data using mobile devices, it does not affect existing device security and administration approaches that represent IT risks.
