Mobile data supplier GeoAge has updated its software -- Field Adapted Survey Toolkit (FAST (News - Alert)).

The Jacksonville-based company claims the newer version enables wireless devices to transmit data at higher speeds and supports BlackBerry (News - Alert) smartphones as well as Windows mobile devices.

According to a lbszone.com report, GeoAge (News - Alert) claimed that the software was originally designed for laptops and personal digital assistants.

The upgrades have enhanced form-creation capabilities, improved synchronization and summarizing tools, and strengthened data import capabilities.

“Coupled with improvements in performance and usability, FAST is now better able to handle significant business process upgrades in many organizations”, said GeoAge President Jeff Arnold.

"Having a powerful mobile data collection capability can be a great benefit to BlackBerry users in university research, business intelligence, field workforce management, engineering, sales, operations and manufacturing," he added.

Designed for high performance enterprise-wide uses, FAST also adds critical data export capabilities and performance upgrades designed to enable greater user flexibility. FAST also allows integration of GPS locations, photographs, videos and digital signatures with data records.

When introduced in 2005, FAST software was designed for rapid deployment of “mobile digital forms” using PDAs, laptop or tablet mobile computers. FAST also allows integration of GPS locations, photographs, videos and digital signatures with data records.
