NGRAIN Technology Now Optimized For Intel
Centrino
NGRAIN Corporation announced that
its NGRAIN technology is now optimized for Intel
Centrino mobile technology. NGRAIN provides an easy way for application
developers, equipment manufacturers and software integrators to add 3D
interfaces and graphics to applications running on the Intel Centrino
mobile technology.
The technological advancements achieved by NGRAIN alleviate dependency
on hardware acceleration. Using NGRAIN, enterprises can create compelling,
interactive 3D applications that reside on mobile employees' laptops or
Tablet PCs, creating a visual interface through which users can wirelessly
access essential data from other external sources, such as servers
residing at their home office.
NGRAIN is designed specifically to enable manufacturing, aerospace and
defense organizations to re-purpose existing 3D data -- such as CAD
models, polygon models, and laser-scanned point data -- regardless of its
complexity. Once converted to the NGRAIN format, the data is significantly
compressed and can be embedded into highly portable, interactive
applications tailored for in-field training, maintenance and service.
"NGRAIN's technology, optimized by working through the Intel Early
Access Program, shows that advanced 3D graphics and mobility are no longer
mutually exclusive," said Melissa Laird, general manager of Intel's
Solutions Enabling Division. "Technologies like NGRAIN allow
enterprises to realize the benefits of the Intel Centrino mobile
technology, enabling employees to wirelessly access critical information
through highly portable, interactive 3D applications."
"The inherent mobility of Intel's Centrino mobile technology
coupled with NGRAIN's intuitive 3D interface makes a powerful combination
for delivering critical information to in-field service and support
employees," said Paul Lindahl, president and CEO, NGRAIN Corp.
