| Xuedong (XD)
Huang joined Microsoft as a senior researcher to found Microsoft's
Speech Technology Group
in 1993. Xuedong and his team have created core technologies used
in a number of Microsoft's products from Office XP to Windows XP. His
interests include not only how to further improve spoken language
components but also how to provide a compelling multimodal solution in a
mobile environment.
XD is an IEEE Fellow, an affiliate
Professor of Electrical Engineering at University of Washington, and an
honorary professor of Computer Science at his alma mater Hunan
University. He served as the vice general chair of ICASSP '98, an
associate editor for IEEE Transaction on Speech and Audio processing,
and a member of Pattern Analysis and Applications editorial board. He
has published more than 100 journal and conference papers. He is a
frequent keynote speaker in numerous industry conventions. He has
co-authored two books: Hidden Markov Models for Speech Recognition
(Edinburgh University Press 1990) and Spoken Language Processing
(Prentice Hall 2001). Before joining Microsoft, he was on the faculty of
Carnegie Mellon University and
directed the effort in developing CMU's Sphinx-II speech recognition
system. He received his B.S. from Hunan
University in 1982, M.S. from Tsinghua University
in 1984, and Ph.D. from University of
Edinburgh in 1989.

David Rogers

| David Rogers is an 11-year marketing veteran
in semiconductor and software products. Working for Intel Corporation, Mr.
Rogers was instrumental in taking the Intel XScale technology to market as
well as launching the Intel PXA250 and PXA210 processors based on this new
technology. In his current role, Mr. Rogers is responsible for developing
the existing market presence of the Intel PCA Components Group, driving the
industry and business exposure of this new market-focus for Intel, and
managing partner marketing programs.
Prior to Intel, Rogers spent over 9-years
with Motorola Semiconductor Product Sector (SPS) where he was last the
Business Development and Marketing Director for the M-CORE Technology
Center. In his career at Motorola, Roger's launched over a dozen software
initiatives and products, including several products based on the 68K,
ColdFire, PowerPC and M-CORE architectures.
Rogers is a graduate of Austin College with a
Bachelors Degree in Political Science.

Rich Tehrani

Mr. Tehrani’s involvement in
telecommunications began in 1982 at Technology Marketing Corporation (TMC).
Since then, he has lead TMC in many capacities, including six years as MIS
director. Mr. Tehrani is publisher of Communications Solutions magazine, and
was instrumental in bringing it to an industry hungry for in-depth
information. Mr. Tehrani is now president and group editor-in-chief of TMC
driving editorial direction of four leading communications magazines and
content for five national trade shows.
