Compaq Keynote At Planet PDA Offers View Of HP
Mega-Merger
Technology Marketing Corporation®
(TMC) announced that Compaq executive
Reginald Linebarger will deliver a keynote address at next week's Planet PDA show in Boston. According to
Linebarger, his address will attempt to make some sense of the implications
of the HP-Compaq mega merger.
"I thought since the new HP has just been formed, I could spend most
of my time giving the audience some insight into the direction of the new
company. This would be timely and of interest to an audience of enterprise
buyers seeking PDA solutions and, more importantly, PDA support,"
explained Linebarger.
Planet PDA is a trade show focused not simply on PDAs, but on enterprise,
government and organization-level deployment of handheld computing devices
as a part of an overall computing infrastructure.
TMC President Rich Tehrani knows the pending Compaq-HP merger definitely
plays into the decision making process for companies and organizations
considering large-scale PDA purchases. Tehrani feels the timing of
Linebarger's presentation couldn't be better. "Any company considering
choosing Compaq or Hewlett-Packard products has to be concerned about
service, support and, in some cases, worried they'll be buying hundreds or
thousands of units of a device that may be discontinued after the deal goes
through. Where else can you go for a timely update of the future of handheld
computing from the merger of two of the biggest Pocket PC vendors?"
said Tehrani.
Mr. Linebarger's address - which is free for all registered attendees --
is scheduled for 12:45 pm, Tuesday, May 14th at the Boston World Trade
Center. It follows addresses by executives at Microsoft and Intel. Complete
details are available at the show Web site, www.planetpdaexpo.com.
