Leaders From The Tablet PC Industry To Address The
Future Of Mobile Computing
Technology Marketing Corporation, TMC, is hosting its first annual Tablet
PC Summit on May 13, 2002 at the Boston World Trade Center in Boston,
Massachusetts. This special half-day workshop will showcase the most
advanced organization-level tablet PC solutions and demonstrate the
state-of-the-art paperless environment.
After a few false starts, tablet PCs are once again gaining significant
momentum in the marketplace -- in no small part due to Microsoft's Tablet PC
initiative officially launched in November 2001 and bold, new innovations in
hardware and software development from the industry at large.
TMC President Rich Tehrani believes new technologies like the tablet PC
play an important role in enriching the computer user's productivity.
"The investment of a tablet PC is a smart one. This super charged
portable would give us the opportunity to share information, work together
on content, send notifications and update tasks among all pertinent parties
at the same time, no matter where we are at the time. These unique features
will help us reduce errors and eliminate lost information since everyone is
kept in the loop," said Tehrani.
Tablet PC Summit offers a first-class forum for learning how tablet PCs
-- when effectively deployed in an organization -- can dramatically improve
productivity and increase profitability. Today's latest tablet PC products
offer a variety of advanced features, including integrated wireless
networking, advanced handwriting recognition, speech recognition and a host
of expansion possibilities that will one day enable the paperless office.
Imagine a boardroom full of executives, managers and support staff
conducting a meeting where no white board, no note pads and no recording
equipment are required. Each meeting attendee will be sharing notes on their
personal tablets. Remote attendees can participate by using their tablets
and a wireless connection.
Marc Robins, TMC's Vice President of Publications and Trade Shows feels
the strength of Tablet PC Summit lies in the pioneering companies
participating. "Starting with Infocater, Viewsonic, and The SAT
Corporation, this super workshop will compare tablet PCs, laptops, ultra
portables and PDAs as they relate to an effective enterprise handheld
computing strategy. Attendees will find out which device is best for their
organization. There is simply no other event where attendees can review the
latest tablet PC offerings from industry leading vendors and how these
offerings can help organizations become more efficient," said Robins.
