LifeScan Partners With gA on Road to Independence

gA (Grupo Assa), a global leader in Digital Business Transformation, will be featured during Oracle (News - Alert)® OpenWorld® 2018 as part of a case study outlining gA's role in executing a rapid, cost effective journey to the Cloud for LifeScan.

LifeScan, a former Johnson & Johnson (J&J) diagnostic systems manufacturer, needed to efficiently migrate their ERP system from an on-premise JD Edwards platform as one step in their separation from J&J. To achieve this ambitious goal, they needed an implementation partner who knew the Oracle system and knew the business top to bottom to be able to answer and resolve any issues or questions that might arise during the migration to the Cloud. With gA support, LifeScan was able to fully migrate to the Cloud in less than eight months, prepared to test the ERP system in the Cloud and be ready to fully perform.

This migration will be highlighted in a presentation by LifeScan's IT Manager, Gilbert Torrance, during the Business Use Case Session of the 2018 Oracle OpenWorld taking place October 22-25. The session, "Why Oracle Applications Run Best on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure", will be held on Monday, October 22nd at 4:45pm in Moscone South room 160.

gA was the perfect partner with the right qualifications, and was recommended to LifeScan by Oracle. gA was also LifeScan's implementation partner for the upgrade to 9.2 release, a pre-requisite for moving to the Cloud, and had in-depth knowledge of LifeScan's product offering. Based on this, plus gA's well-established relationships within the Oracle family, the transition was easy and quick.

In describing gA's differentiators, LifeScan points to relationship building as one factor, which they believe, played a key role in getting this project completed in record time. "While still providing the benefit of great offshore costs, gA was able to provide relationships from top to bottom. With any other outsourcer, you have so many layers, so many thousands of people involved, it's not as personalized or as efficient," Torrance said.

"It's especially gratifying to have been included in a case study presentation during Oracle OpenWorld," said Ariel Capone, gA's US Managing Director, and Global Life Sciences Practice Head. "As one of the premier global gatherings for enterprise IT professionals, it's a springboard for what's next in digital possibilities."
