NYC: LOUD's SOMOS Gala, in Honor of National Hispanic Heritage Month, TONIGHT, Sept. 22nd @ Cedar LakeAIDS Healthcare Foundation's Latino Outreach and Understanding Division (LOUD) will host its second annual SOMOS Gala to commemorate National Hispanic Heritage Month on Thursday, September 22nd at 7 PM at Cedar Lake Events space, located at 547 W 26th street in New York City, adjacent to the High Line. The formal gala dinner and ceremony will honor the contributions of both individuals and organizations that have contributed to the advancement and well-being of Latino communities nationally. The event will include award presentations as well as live music and the unveiling of LOUD's 2016 video campaign, which is a collaboration with the NYC-based comedy troupe, ROOM 28. "LOUD is excited to host our second annual SOMOS gala and launch our newest digital campaign during National Hispanic Heritage Month to bring home a message around sexual health through comedy and a touch of cultural nuances to initiate these difficult conversations," said Hector Torres, Chair of LOUD. "With Latinos making up 21% of all new HIV infections in the U.S., we also want to recognize those who have, and continue to work tirelessly to eliminate the social and health disparities that remain a threat to Latino communities."
