Appcito Releases Cloud Application Front-End (CAFE) for OpenStack-Based Clouds[OpenStack Summit] Booth #T32 - Appcito, a cloud application delivery solution provider, announced that their Cloud Application Front-End (CAFE) solution is now available for OpenStack clouds. Appcito's CAFE is the first purpose-built cloud-native solution for accelerating and securing cloud applications and unifies all the application delivery services-including load balancing, application security, continuous deployment, performance optimization, and application analytics and insights-needed for delivering both traditional and micro services-based applications. Appcito CAFE for OpenStack empowers application and operations teams to deploy cloud applications that are fast, secure and reliable-with instant infrastructure service access and deep insights into the real-time behavior of applications. "Appcito CAFE addresses critical problems in OpenStack environments faced by both enterprise cloud IT and cloud service provider IaaS organizations providing services to their application team and developer customers and to the application teams that want to consume these application enhancing services," said Kamal Anand (News - Alert), CEO of Appcito. "Existing approaches are either not cloud-native and agile enough or they demand too much of application teams' scarce resources." Enterprises and Cloud Providers building OpenStack clouds can increase application agility, performance and security by enabling application teams to self-provision a rich set of integrated application services, including advanced L4 (TCP)-L7 (HTTP) load balancing with deep application visibility and analytics; application security and threat protection, and traffic management and analytics for continuous deployment. Benefits to Enterprise IT and cloud service provider organizations:
Appcito CAFE leverages OpenStack services such as Nova, Neutron, Cinder and Ceilometer. Appcito's cloud-native elastic load balancer, Policy Execution Proxy (PEP), is built from the ground up on Nova compute instances and is automatically scaled based on programmable policies. Further, Appcito CAFE PEP can easily be provisioned with additional policies to work in Docker for OpenStack environments. Appcito can automate this entire process very easily, and it is the simplest way for the application developers to use Appcito PEP on a per-application basis. "Unlike traditional vendors which just have come out with LBaaS for OpenStack, Appcito has made other capabilities such as application resiliency and real-time visibility, application security, application performance optimization in OpenStack cloud," said Dr. Pravin Misra, CEO and Co-Founder of Pugmarks, Inc., a cloud-hosting provider. "Appcito's innovative implementation enables us to easily and cost-effectively deliver a rich set of application services to our tenant customers. Supporting Resources
