Independent Research Firm Cites Software AG As A Leader In Wave for Portfolio Management Tools

Software AG (Frankfurt TecDAX: SOW) today announced that Forrester (News - Alert) Research Inc., a leading industry analyst firm, has named Software AG a 'Leader' in The Forrester Wave™: Portfolio Management Tools For The BT (News - Alert) Agenda, Q1 2015 (published on March 18, 2015)1 for its Alfabet solution. Software AG's Alfabet IT Planning & Portfolio Management is a collaborative platform used by business and IT leaders to better understand their IT landscape. Alfabet helps with future IT planning and strategizing and provides the means to execute company strategy effectively and efficiently by synchronizing business and IT portfolio management activities. Responding to the "Cloud First" corporate policies and direction of many enterprises, Software AG recently introduced its Alfabet Cloud product.

Takeaways from the Report

Alfabet was the only vendor in the report to receive the highest possible score for "Portfolio management SaaS (News - Alert) growth rate" and "Deployment options." The Forrester Wave report noted that Leaders have "a product strategy [that] emphasizes portfolio management as a game changer. Differentiation here was a clearly articulated road map that included significant investment in innovative solutions that leverage leading-edge technologies to provide sophisticated analysis while providing great user experience." In the Forrester report, it was stated that by "combining the identification of business and technology capabilities, EA management suite (EAMS) solutions, such as Software AG, enable EA professionals to assess and identify companies' abilities to achieve their objectives." The report continues by positioning Software AG as one of the leaders in meeting companies' "needs requiring strong market and financial analysis."

Alfabet Business and IT Portfolio Views Provide Executives with the Whole Picture

Dr. Wolfram Jost, Chief Technology Officer and member of the Board, Software AG, said: "I believe that to be found a leader in a report that is sub-titled 'the nine providers that matter most and how they stack up' validates our vision for IT Portfolio Management. We knew early on that our global enterprise customers have IT investment and strategic planning needs that go far beyond traditional project portfolio management. These companies require comprehensive insights into the constitution, performance and interdependencies of their business and IT portfolios in order to guide their strategic decisions. Alfabet gives them this 'Whole View' perspective across all aspects of their enterprise and synchronizes changes as they happen."
