Vedicis Platform Selected for Data Traffic Intelligence by Tier 1 Indian MNO

Vedicis, a leading software editor of policy and charging enforcement solutions with network intelligence, announces that its Data Traffic Visibility solution has been selected by a Tier 1 Indian telecom operator for Internet usage insights.

This Indian MNO observes impressive data surge in its networks, which is both fuelled by LTE (News - Alert) introduction, and the increasing of subscribers activating data plans in parallel of smartphones usage. This stretches current network resources, and the MNO's capacity has to race against this growth. At stake: keeping the right balance between investment capex to support usage evolution, and the necessary monetization of new broadband appetite.

Vedicis Data Traffic Visibility solution has been selected to complement network operation systems delivering advanced statistics and reports that present subscribers' group of applications and protocols (Video, VoIP, Mail, MNO's, artner services…), top bandwidth users (subscribers, applications, OTTs), cell IDs and device types traffic patterns. The multi-criteria selection (users, applications, OTTs, location, device) provides powerful approach to get in-depth visibility about volume, bandwidth, sessions to detect, grasp and anticipate traffic evolution and impacts.

The MNO plans to better anticipate congestion peak time and locations to adapt capacity while leveraging usage to help marketing team to prepare enhanced data plans such as toll free services off peak hours or applications vouchers in low traffic zone.
