PulteGroup Homes Get Access to AT&T U-verse with GigaPower

(ENP Newswire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ENP Newswire - 16 April 2014 Release date- 09042014 - AUSTIN - AT&T* and PulteGroup, Inc. today announced an agreement to offer AT&T U-verse with GigaPower(SM) over a fiber-to-the-premises (FTTP) network to four currently open for sale single-family communities and five existing communities in the Austin area.

With the agreement, AT&T will offer its cutting-edge U-verse broadband, TV and Voice services on an advanced, all-fiber network to the PulteGroup communities in Austin, Round Rock, Pflugerville and Leander. When completed, the developments will include nearly 3,000 homes.

AT&T launched U-verse with GigaPower in December. Sales of the ultra-fast broadband service have exceeded expectations. AT&T provides the fastest broadband service available to Austin customers - up to 300 megabits per second (Mbps) downstream and upstream - and plans to increase speeds to up to 1 gigabit per second later this year.

The agreement with PulteGroup is part of a strategic marketing initiative to provide next-generation communications and entertainment solutions to homebuyers and residents. AT&T makes the agreements with national and regional single-family builders, developers, real estate investment trusts, apartment ownership/management groups, and homeowners' associations. Residents of the select Austin-area PulteGroup communities can choose to purchase the bundle of AT&T services for use in their homes, and AT&T also will provide free services in some public spaces.

Active development communities covered by the agreement are: Pulte Homes' Cold Springs community in Leander, where homes start from the $210,000s.

The Hollow at Slaughter Creek, a Pulte Homes community in Austin, where homes start from the $200,000s.

Pulte Homes' Preston Village community in Austin, where homes start from the $190,000s.

Centex Homes' Stirling Bridge community in Austin, which offers homes from $160,000s.

In addition, existing PulteGroup communities Ashbrook, Blackhawk, Cantara, Teravista and Westview Meadows will have access to GigaPower.

'Austinites have a real appetite for speed and advanced TV features and we're so pleased to have the opportunity to drive these services into more neighborhoods,' said Dahna Hull, vice president and general manager, AT&T Services Inc. 'PulteGroup is really on the cutting edge of development by equipping its properties with incredibly fast broadband speeds and an unprecedented TV experience, offering more HD and more simultaneous content viewing. Residents in these developments will have the most advanced everyday technology at their fingertips.' 'Through our work with AT&T, PulteGroup is able to provide its homeowners the very latest in high-speed Internet capability to meet the technology needs of the modern family,' said Stephen Teodecki, division president for PulteGroup in Central Texas. 'Austin is one of the fastest growing cities in America and much of that growth is driven by the abundance of high-tech employers present throughout our city. We are thrilled to have such a strong relationship with AT&T to help us provide our homeowners the very latest in high-speed Internet capability.' Tens of thousands of customer locations in Austin and the surrounding area have access to AT&T U-verse with GigaPower, including parts of Bastrop, Cedar Park, Dripping Springs, Jollyville, Lakeway, Leander, Pflugerville, and Round Rock. Within Austin, the services are available in neighborhoods such as Bryker Woods, Cherrywood, French Place, Mueller, Old Enfield, and Tarrytown. Planned expansions in 2014 include areas of Zilker, Homestead, and North Lamar, among many other neighborhoods.

U-verse brings together your broadband, TV and home phone with distinctive features that provide a new level of integration, convenience and control.

U-verse with GigaPower delivers upstream and downstream speeds of up to 300 Mbps. All AT&T U-verse High Speed Internet packages include wireless home or office networking capability at no extra cost, so residents of the developments can connect Wi-Fi enabled devices to their home broadband connection. Wi-Fi provides fast speeds for accessing the mobile Internet on smartphones and other devices, and Wi-Fi usage doesn't count against AT&T customers' monthly mobile data plans. U-verse with GigaPower also gives customers the ability to watch and record more shows simultaneously when used with our largest storage capacity DVR. Customers can enjoy numerous U-verse TV features and apps, including the ability to manage their DVR recordings, and, for qualifying TV customers, watch hit TV shows on select tablets and smartphones with the U-verse App; the freedom to manage and playback recorded programs from a single DVR on any U-verse connected TV in the house with Total Home DVR; the ability to choose and watch up to four of their favorite channels at one time with the AT&T U-verse My Multiview app; an extensive High Definition (HD) channel lineup; the ability to check the current weather conditions and forecasts in any U.S. city with Weather On Demand; and more.
