Pivot3 and Teradici Join Forces to Deliver High Performance VDI solutions
AUSTIN, Texas --(Business Wire)--
Pivot3,
a leading provider of converged storage and compute appliances, today
announced a partnership with Teradici, the developer of the PC-over-IP®
(PCoIP®) protocol, to further drive exceptional end-user
experiences within VDI environments. With joint customers across a wide
array of industries in both the U.S. and EMEA, Pivot3 and Teradici have
helped provide organizations with cost-effective solutions that boost
end-user experience across the board. Through the partnership, both
companies will work together on co-marketing initiatives and potential
bundle programs addressing key vertical markets where VDI is a perfect
IT solution.
"With our parallel focus on providing VDI solutions that simplify and
enhance the end-user experience, a partnership between Pivot3 and
Teradici seemed like a natural progression," said Olivier Thierry, chief
marketing officer at Pivot3. "Pivot3 is committed to simplifying VDI
environments by drastically cutting the costs associated with adoption
while constantly improving the end-user experience, a similarity we see
between both companies. We look forward to continuing our work with
Teradici to provide current, and perspective, customers with
high-performance VDI appliances suited to meet today's business demands."
Both Teradici and Pivot3 will be showcasing solutions at VMware Partner
Exchange, taking place February 25 - 27 at the Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las
Vegas, Nevada.
Pivot3 (Booth 1401): Pivot3 will showcase its vSTAC VDI
appliances which provide an affordable enterprise-class VMware View
virtual desktop infrastructure with high performance, high availability
and no single point of failure. Through its patented Serverless
Computing™ software innovation, Pivot3 delivers radically simplified and
integrated shared storage and virtual servers in a simple, scalable
appliance.
Teradici (Booth 1501): Teradici will provide live demos of
Teradici Arch™ Published Desktop, APEX™ 2800 server offload card, and
Tera2 zero clients, showcasing how PCoIP solutions can help VMware
Partners to expand their virtual desktop opportunities tenfold. The
Teradici PCoIP protocol compresses, encrypts and encodes the entire
computing experience at the data center and transmits it 'pixels only'
across any standard IP network to stateless PCoIP zero clients.
"As a global transportation company, we had an immediate need to address
our mobile workforce," said Josh England, chief financial officer at CR
England. "Pivot3's VDI solution was a strong fit that offered
feasibility and manageability. Along with the Teradici APEX card, we
were able to provide our employees with the flexibility they desired,
while also providing great user experience that exceeded our
expectations."
"The Hurlingham Club sought an IT solution to upgrade our desktop
capabilities while still providing an exceptional computing experience
for our staff," said David Appleton, IT manager at The Hurlingham Club.
"We selected a Pivot3 and Teradici solution as it best fit our budget
constraints, while also demonstrating superior performance during our
Proof-of-Concept trial. We are currently starting implementation and we
will be going live to staff at the end of April 2013."
"We are thrilled to announce this partnership with Pivot3, seeing that
we have synergistic solutions geared toward providing customers with the
best user experience in virtualized environments," said Trent Punnett,
vice president of product management, systems engineering, and corporate
development at Teradici. "Pivot3 customers now have the option to
utilize the Teradici APEX 2800, as well as zero clients, to reap the
benefits of PCoIP, therefore significantly improving experience and
scalability."
