Movirtu launches new SIM-based solution ManyMe

Feb 25, 2013 (Datamonitor via COMTEX) -- Movirtu, a provider of identity solutions for mobile operators, has announced the availability of Movirtu ManyMe, a solution that adds a 'Bring Your Own Number' capability to corporate mobile phones.

With ManyMe, employees of companies that adopt a COPE (corporate owned, personally enabled) mobility model can add their existing personal number, as a secondary number, to their corporate device and remove the need to carry and maintain two devices.

ManyMe is reportedly a virtual SIM-based solution that enables mobile operators to assign multiple phone numbers to single-SIM devices, without the need for a second SIM card.

With ManyMe, employees can receive phone calls made to their business or private number on the same handset. When initiating calls or sending messages from the ManyMe app, any charges will be added to the private number, removing the need for the employee to separate out private calls in their expense reports. This approach allows businesses to own the business phone number and to maintain a corporate-liable environment while also providing employees with a better user experience by allowing them to use their business device for private communication, with their existing private number, the company said.

An additional, discrete use case for ManyMe allows subscribers to assign multiple private numbers to their private SIM card. For mobile operators, ManyMe helps to address subscriber inactivity problems caused by users switching between two or more SIMs on competing networks. This improves stickiness, minimises inactive periods and improves ARPU, the company added.

It is based on standard network technology and does not rely on VoIP (Voice over IP) which is prone to poor voice quality, patchy mobile broadband coverage and international data roaming issues. Movirtu ManyMe works anywhere there is a mobile phone signal and provides the same voice quality as regular phone calls. For smartphone users, a simple, intuitive app for iOS and Android facilitates easy switching between profiles, while feature phones are supported via an interactive multi-lingual USSD interface, the company reported.

Carsten Brinkschulte, CEO at Movirtu, said: "Most business users today carry two devices: a corporate device with a corporate SIM card and a personal device with their personal SIM card. With Movirtu ManyMe's Bring Your Own Number capability, employees can use their corporate device for personal calls without having to give up their personal phone number and without having to spend time separating out personal phone calls for expense reports. For businesses choosing not to go down the BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) route, Movirtu ManyMe provides an elegant solution that lets business users use their personal number from their corporate phone." Movirtu ManyMe is based on Movirtu's standards-based, patented Virtual SIM platform, which enables multiple numbers to be active on a single, standard SIM card. The company's server platform is based on standard mobile network technology and, when integrated into the operator's network, provides the basis for a variety of innovative service offerings, including Movirtu ManyMe and Movirtu WorkLife.
