Blackfoot Telecommunications acquires Cutthroat Communications


Feb 12, 2013 (Datamonitor Financial Deals Tracker via COMTEX) -- Blackfoot Telecommunications Group, Inc., a provider of voice over IP network, phone, Internet, and networking services, has acquired Cutthroat Communications. Both the companies are based in the US.



Cutthroat is an owner and operator of telecommunications carrier offering enterprise customers reliable, secure and scalable Internet, data transport and voice services.

Concurrently, Blackfoot has also acquired Fremont Telcom Co. and Fretel Communications, LLC from FairPoint Communications, Inc.


Announcement (October 31, 2012): Blackfoot is planning to acquire Cutthroat.

The transaction is expected to be completed by end of 2012.

Deal Rationale With this acquisition, Blackfoot will gain talent and technology that builds on its successful IP network.

The combined acquisitions add approximately 5,000 business and residential customers to Blackfoot's network, more than doubling its high-capacity fiber backbone throughout all of Montana and eastern Idaho.

By integrating Cutthroat's expertise in wireless WAN technology and its statewide network with Blackfoot's all-IP environment, which will serve multi-location businesses without geographic boundaries through services like virtual server colocation, virtualized desktop and applications, disaster recovery, and hosted business systems.
