GENBAND Presents Latest IMS, Monetization and Cloud Strategies at IMS World Forum 2012
FRISCO, Texas --(Business Wire)--
GENBAND,
a leading developer of IP infrastructure and application
solutions, today announced it will present the latest in IMS
breakthroughs across its portfolio at IMS World Forum 2012, which takes
place at NH Eurobuilding in Madrid from April 24-26, 2012. At Stand 10,
GENBAND will unveil its Rich Communications Suite-enhanced (RCS-e)
solution powered by the A2
Communication Applications Server and S3
Session Border Controller (SBC) and showcase the recently released GENBAND
GENiUS IMS, a flexible and simplified network transformation
solution for both integrated and distributed IMS environments.
"We are pleased to participate in IMS World Forum to showcase the latest
in IMS convergence and network migration solutions that enable operators
to rapidly deliver revenue-generating voice and multimedia applications,
including Rich Communications Suite-Enhanced," said Mark Pugerude (News - Alert),
President of Global Sales and Marketing, GENBAND. "GENBAND is well
positioned to support service provider innovation and IMS network
migration while decreasing both OPEX and CAPEX. Future-proofing our
customers' path to IMS and beyond sits at the heart of our approach and
is made possible through our comprehensive GENBAND GENiUS IMS solution."
According to a report released in March by independent market
intelligence firm Synergy (News - Alert) Research Group, Inc, GENBAND's no. 1 market
share position has increased in the network transformation "Carrier VoI
(Next Generation Networking and IMS)" category. The no. 1 position
combines revenue market share across GENBAND's Network Transformation
portfolio, which includes Session Border Controller, softswitch, media
gateways and application server solutions, and is based on historical
quarterly performance in 2010 - 2011.
"The GENiUS platform continues to increase GENBAND's value to service
providers worldwide, enabling service providers to optimize their
existing network assets as well as gain the agility they require to be
more competitive in today's ever-changing marketplace," said Jeremy
Duke, Founder and Chief Analyst of Synergy Research Group. "GENBAND is
in a unique position with its wide breadth of advanced network solutions
from PSTN migration providing substantial OPEX savings to an end-to-end
IMS roadmap enabling operators to better compete with Over-the-Top
players. GENBAND's acquisition and successful integration of Nortel (News - Alert) NGN
assets in 2010 has significantly bolstered this position and at Synergy
we continue to measure this success as seen in the strong market share
gains and leadership that GENBAND has accomplished."
GENBAND GENiUS IMS offers a unique, flexible and simplified network
transformation solution that provides best-in-class elements for both
integrated and distributed IMS environments. GENiUS IMS eliminates the
complexity of deploying, integrating and managing separate IMS elements
across operational systems, enabling deployment of advanced
communications services for both narrowband and broadband access and
supporting seamless evolution to IMS and beyond. GENBAND's unique GENiUS
platform supports existing voice services, IP multimedia services, IMS
enhanced services and hybrid deployments using the same network
solution, offering service providers a seamless and flexible network
transformation approach.
The GENBAND RCS-e solution, powered by the A2 Communication Applications
Server and S3 Session Border Controller (SBC), provides an evolutionary
path for network migration, encompassing rich end user applications and
multiplatform mobile clients in addition to edge security and quality
monitoring with integrated system and client management. The solution
can be tailored for entry level, economical pre-IMS deployments all the
way to full-scale network deployments.
On Tuesday, April 24, Micaela Giuhat (News - Alert), Vice President of Product
Marketing for GENBAND, will participate in the 'Evaluating Monetization
Strategies that IMS enables in the Context of the Data Tsunami' panel
from 3:15 to 3:45 p.m.; on Wednesday, April 25, Ms. Giuhat will
participate in the 'What are the Challenges of Deploying IMS in the
Cloud?' panel from 3:15 to 3:45 p.m.
