Kids4Kids is a nonprofit organization founded in Hong Kong in the year 2008. It is run by a group of volunteers, who are passionate about working with kids and regard their work as a worthy cause.

The main objective of this organization is to empower kids so that they are inspired to make a difference to the world by their positive actions.

By providing a platform for the kids, the organization encourages them to engage themselves in useful and meaningful ways so that there is room for self-expression. This would preserve the identity of the child and at the same time contribute to its growth as an individual.

Kids4Kids first started with "Writing for a Cause" competition to empower kids to take action using their writing skills create a 'product' that could be sold to raise funds for charity. The competition was held in the year 2009.

Hong Kong Broadband Network Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of City Telecom Limited, has decided to contribute its mite to the community by announcing a sponsorship for the reprint of the Kids4Kids' 2009 Books series.

This series features the overall winning stories from the 'Writing for a Cause' competition written by Kids in Hong Kong for Kids. The broadband company has decided to donate the proceeds from this venture to local charities dealing with less fortunate children.

'Hong Kong's Kids today are Hong Kong's future tomorrow. We are proud to be working with Kids4Kids to inspire our Kids to be an active part of our community," Ricky Wong, Chairman of HKBN, said.

Wong was eager to make Hong Kong a more vibrant city by bringing pioneering technology to the community, thereby creating a bright future not only for its inhabitants but also for the kids.

Shirley Kuan of Kids4Kids, who also wanted to make a difference said that children in Hong Kong often raised substantial sums of money, but it ended there. Engaging kids in worthwhile causes leaves a lasting impact as they become totally involved with the cause, broadening their social awareness horizons.

Since the year 2008, the Organization has published eight books written by Hong Kong school kids. It has also initiated a writing competition "Writing for a Cause" in which 100 students participated, and sold 2000 copies to date. Contributions to the tune of $85,000 was donated to the 2008/2009 charity partner.

A sample of one the Kids4Kids Books 2009 series, 'No Ordinary Dog,' written and illustrated by Ryan Cotter, Monica Francis & Abigail can be obtained at this Web site.
