Physical Security Service Announced by Ciber
 TMCnet Contributing Editor
Ciber officials announced the company’s latest physical security service offering, CiberSecure, described as “a new product for effective and comprehensive situational awareness, security event management and data integration.”
CiberSecure is described as a command and control product combining security technologies, sensor data, video data, operational applications, crisis management, first responder systems, and networks communication systems to “apply agency response policies and best practices for complete real-time situational awareness and response.”
The product is targeted to single command centers, multi-agency centers and regional centers to “realize the benefits of improved incident response communication and management through CiberSecure,” company officials said.
Erin Phelps, Director of Enterprise Security Solutions for Ciber, said “we do not sell shrink-wrapped, one-size-fits-all command center applications. We work with our clients to understand the unique needs and system expectations and then tailor CiberSecure to meet those needs.”
In October TMCnet had the news that Ciber and HighJump Software announced what Ciber officials called “a major milestone in their work” with Brooklyn-based Empire Merchants, a wine and spirits distributor in metropolitan New York.
Empire Merchants engaged Ciber to implement the HighJump warehouse management system, to enhance their inventory and distribution efficiencies.
Empire and Ciber completed the phase I WMS implementation in Empire's Brooklyn, New York facility. The second phase of the implementation will be in Empire's Astoria, New York facility, scheduled for January, 2009
Also in October Ciber announced that it had partnered with a European provider of automated financial quote management and trading solutions, Actant, to assist the firm with its Agile ( News - Alert) software development initiatives.
Actant officials said they sought out the assistance of Ciber partly because it has among its ranks two of the first eight Scrum Alliance certified Scrum coaches in the world.
Scrum is a process framework designed to shorten the time required to develop and deliver software by completing the most valuable functionality first. It’s ideally suited for projects that have rapidly changing or poorly defined requirements.
