Raytheon Plans to Expand Security Solutions Portfolio with Oakley Networks Acquisition

Raytheon ( News - Alert) Company, a technology company serving the military and government agencies, recently announced plans to acquire cyber-security tech firm Oakley Networks. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Oakley Networks was founded in 2001, and makes security software used by Fortune 500 companies and the U.S. government to protect sensitive information. The company’s platform ties together enterprise monitoring with visual investigation and forensics to protect against various types of cyber threats. Based on Salt Lake City, Utah, Oakley has 200 employees.
Michael Keebaugh, president of Raytheon Intelligence and Information Systems, said Oakley’s product portfolio will be added to Raytheon’s expertise to deliver robust information security solutions to customers. This is expected to grow Raytheon’s roughly $20.3 billion in annual sales (2006 figures).
“Combining Raytheon's global expertise and capability with our unique cyber-security solutions will provide customers with the very best protection available to sustain the confidentiality, integrity and availability of their critical networks, while preserving vital information sharing capability,” Keebaugh said in a statement.
