TeleNav Offers Feature-Rich, Location-Based Services to Mobile Users

TeleNav, a provider of location-based services has announced new features that will surely excite mobile users.
Its latest version of TeleNav GPS Navigator, which will be immediately available to the public, will allow mobile users to send text messages about their locations.
TeleNav also allows customers to interact with each other on topics like their favorite businesses or tips on where to get the cheapest gas. They also have the capability of rating a particular establishment and sending it in real time to their friends and families.
TeleNav's new service brings a new definition to mobile communication. Aside from these features, the new version also offers driving directions. TeleNav GPS provides users with directions that include street names while driving.
The phone based navigation service also offers the following features:
-- “My TeleNav” Website access – This feature allow users to access their files saved under "Favorites” on www.telenav.com, using their mobile phone by launching TeleNav GPS navigator.
-- Biz Finder – This feature allows users to locate local establishments including hotels, restaurants, banks, gas stations, and even Wi-Fi  hotspots using their mobile phone.
-- Spot Market – This is an innovative way to mark waypoints so users will not get lost while travelling, it is also the easiest way to get to the user's destination.
"Location-based services such as TeleNav GPS Navigator are increasingly more useful and usable, letting mobile subscribers leverage the immediacy and relevancy of the mobile phone to be more productive while on-the-go," said Jill Aldort, Yankee Group's ( News - Alert) senior analyst of consumer mobility applications in a statement. "Information/direction services are one of the top mobile applications that consumers express interest in, and the addition of location sharing and other community features further raises the appeal."
