Ikanos Communications Inc., a supplier of Fiber Fast Broadband solutions, has introduced the Fusiv Vx180 Gateway (News - Alert) Processor.

The Vx180 gateway processor is a single chip, multi-mode processor that gives 2.7 GHz of processing power, supports VoIP, multi-mode DSL and added network security.

Ikanos’ chipsets use Fiber Fast bandwidth technology to provide high speed and clarity for audio and video, enabling triple-play services such as IPTV. The company provides end-to-end silicon solutions, CPE modems, power line terminals and residential gateways to some of the best companies manufacturing network equipment.

The Vx180 reduces space and power consumption by combining VDSL2’s CPE PHY and its Fusiv architectural design into just one small single chip. It delivers high-speed performance to LAN and WAN interface users using its exclusive Accelerator Processor feature, and enables IPSec and SSL implementation for high network security.

The  processor also delivers high-quality VoIP with a Digital Signal Processor to improve sound and audio clarity.

Ahmed Selmani, managing director, Broadband and Residential Terminals business unit at Sagem Communication, said in a statement, "Ikanos enables carriers to cost effectively and effortlessly provide a wide array of services with its industry leading gateway processors and VDSL2 chips.”
