CRM Vendor Sage Acquires Intellectual Property From VerticalFalls

TMCnet Contributing Editor

Sage Software has announced the acquisition of intellectual property from VerticalFalls Software, Inc., a financial services industry solution provider based in Reston, Virginia, that will enable Sage Software to deliver what company officials are calling "a compliance and document tracking" product based on its ACT! by Sage product.

The new offering will be engineered to "meet the specialized needs of financial services organizations," company officials say.

VerticalFalls will continue operations as a professional services firm that will resell the integrated product, as well as provide implementation services, data migrations, training, support and business consulting.

Joe Bergera, ACT! senior vice president and general manager for Sage Software, said by integrating ACT! with the acquired VerticalFalls technology, the CRM vendor hopes to "deliver business critical contact management and compliance features that brokerage firms, financial advisors and others in the financial services industry need in today's marketplace."

At the end of October Sage announced the establishment of its Saudi operation, based in Riyadh.

"We have been running our regional business out of the head office in Dubai, but business growth creates the demand for physical presence and greater commitment," said Marc Van der Ven, managing director, Sage Software Middle East.

"Sage has invested in setting up a local Saudi operation to be closer to our business partners and provide them with marketing and technical support and training to assist customers," said Van der Ven.

Saudi Arabia, which has not qualified for WTO compliance, could stand some greater efficiency in their business operations. Van der Ven said Saudi businesses are "realizing the need to invest in their infrastructure, whether it's to manage their accounts, their people or their sales and marketing processes."

Earlier Sage had announced that Harry Rosen Inc., a Canadian men's wear retailer, had implemented a customized, Web-based version of Sage CRM SalesLogix enabling real-time Sage CRM SalesLogix customer data via mobile devices for its sales associates on the retail floor.

The haberdasher has since estimated that sales revenues have grown 10 percent per store since implementing Sage CRM SalesLogix.

There you go, try to work "haberdasher" in your next conversation.
