AdventNet Inc. creators of Zoho, and WebEx, a vendor of software-as-a-service applications for collaborative business on the web, have announced that Zoho's web-based CRM and office productivity tools will be available via the new WebEx Connect application grid.

Zoho CRM is described by company officials as "a complete relationship lifecycle management solution delivered as a service," while Zoho Writer, Sheet and Show each provide full-featured "office in a browser" functionality.

The marketing pitch Zoho officials give is that by integrating sales force automation with lead generation and campaign management combined with help desk, customer service and order tracking, small and medium-sized businesses can manage the entire customer lifecycle from any browser without the hassle and cost of traditional premise-based software applications.

With the new WebEx Connect integration, Zoho CRM users can now instantly schedule or launch WebEx meetings directly from Zoho CRM.

In related news, SugarCRM, which likes to call itself "the world's leading provider of commercial open source customer relationship management," has announced a collaboration with WebEx where Sugar Professional will be available via the new WebEx Connect application grid.

Sugar Professional is SugarCRM's commercial open source CRM application, serving "more than 800 customers in over 40 languages," company officials claim.

Sugar Professional provides a single view of customer interactions across sales, marketing and service, as well as campaign management, opportunity tracking, account management, sales forecasting and customer support capabilities, with reporting and collaboration tools.

"The future of software is based on open applications integrated into a single service," John Roberts, chairman and CEO, SugarCRM is fond of saying.

Zoho's web-based CRM and office productivity tools are some of the many applications users will be able to access through their personal WebEx Connect workspace and the WebEx Connect grid of partner applications.

WebEx Connect is an application platform specifically designed for on-demand collaboration and third party application integration, allowing users to integrate data from multiple applications and create a collaborative workspace custom designed for their particular workflow and business process.
