The WebSwitch 2000 is a network communications system that
allows businesses to garner the benefits of converging voice with data and
wireless applications onto a single communications infrastructure. For small
to mid-size enterprises, the WebSwitch 2000 offers a converged IP solution
that can coexist with a companys current infrastructure or can be a
comprehensive IP-based multi-service network used in new offices. It
supports analog phones, the Ericsson Dialog 3413 Office IP phone, PC
softphones, wireless LAN devices, NetMeeting, and third-party H.323 phones,
giving the customer a variety of phones to choose from.
On a real-time operating system, the WebSwitch 2000 provides
virtually every traditional telephony feature as well as integrated voice
mail, unified messaging, CTI, and call logging functionality. An automated
attendant is integrated with such features as dial by name, transfers of
calls via an interactive voice response function, and an allowance for
multiple greetings. The Phone Manager application gives users basic call
control functionality, can communicate with Microsoft NetMeeting, and can
integrate with the Symantec ACT! database and Microsoft Outlook. It also
features visual voice mail. An ACD is available with up to 36 agents spread
over multiple groups with group to group overflow supported, and queues
ranging from 1 to 50 callers per cluster.
Add-on applications include OneBox UM Lite and the D.N.A
Application Suite. OneBox UM Lite is the unified messaging enhancement for
the WebSwitch 2000 with support for various versions of Microsoft Outlook.
The DNA Application Suite consists of the Operator WorkStation (OWS) and
Directory ManaGer (DMG). The OWS is a Windows-based attendant console that
uses operator-specific telephony features and messaging capabilities
designed to provide better customer service. The DMG works with the OWS to
manage external and internal directories. Using Microsoft SQL 2000/MSDE
2000, it is compatible with Ericssons MD110 and BusinessPhone PBXs,
simplifying the integration process across networks.
The Windows-based Net Manager Application controls the
network administration of the system but also uses an embedded SNMP V2 agent
for fault management and can integrate into any SNMP management client, such
as HP OpenView. A call detail Record function shows relevant call
information that could be used for performance management and accounting.
