Wireless Voice And Data -- Tools And Solutions

[ Go Right To The Roundup ]

The other night I had a dream -- cables, coaxial white and black wires surrounded me like a great thicket, and I could not escape. I was trapped at my computer, bound by the technology that was supposed to link me to the New World, barely able to gather a breath. It was then I realized: I was awake, and living in Manhattan.

This roundup takes a wide view at several companies breaking the restrictions of electrical tether and driving wirelessly into the new world. From the network to the personal, the products and services listed below will clue you into how you can make your world wireless. Start here, and free your floor and your dreams from encroaching cables.

Fret not, oh urban dweller. Feel free to roam, Mr. and Mrs. Suburb. It is no secret that our computer technologies are going wire-free, and dont think just cell phones. E-mail, address books, customer premise equipment, networks you name it, and I can all but guarantee that wires are disappearing from the exterior.

Critical to survival is the ability for mobile service providers to understand their networks and their customers. Technology that allows them to extract customer usage data from the network, analyze it and determine service packages and billing models accordingly will allow mobile service providers to provide these types of services and remain competitive.
