The high performance switch, packaged in a compact 1U form factor with Ports on Demand capabilities, allows scalability from 16 to 24 or 32 ports. The Brocade 5000 also facilitates SAN deployment and management by enabling non-disruptive expansion of existing SAN fabrics with existing management tools that improve fabric-wide performance.
The Brocade 5000 switch is highly energy-efficient, consuming as little as one quarter of the power other competitive products do. This makes it the ideal solution for reducing power and cooling requirements, as well as ongoing operational costs.
Part of the HP B-Series line, the Brocade 5000 can be customized by HP and is marketed and sold as the HP StorageWorks 4/32B SAN Switch. The B-Series also includes the Brocade 48000 Director, Brocade 4100 Switch, Brocade 200E Switch, and multiple custom embedded SAN solutions.
