Dell Expands 'Green' Portfolio with New Notebook and Mobile Workstation Products

Dell (News - Alert) recently unveiled its new ultra-mobile Latitude D430 notebook and Precision M4300 mobile workstation. Both products comply with the Environmental Protection Agency's newest Energy Star 4.0 standard, making these just the latest ‘green’ products from the company.

 
Dell Precision M4300 Mobile WorkstationThe company also said that its Precision 390, 490 and 690 are also now Energy Star 4.0 compliant. Additionally, Dell recently launched its new OptiPlex 740 and 745 desktop computers, which are similarly ‘green.’
 
Dell said that it now offers more Energy Star 4.0 compliant products than any other major information technology company.
 
“Not only are we innovating on an environmental front, we are bringing mobile technology to corporate and workstation users that allow them to get more done no matter where they work,” said Vivek Mohindra, vice president at Dell’s product group, in a statement.
 
Dell Latitude D430 NotebookMohindra continued: “We are also leading the solid state revolution. Dell was the first major system vendor to deliver on the technology and today we are also making available the most comprehensive set of products with solid state drives.”
 
The 12-inch widescreen Latitude D430 is designed to meet the needs of customers looking for extreme mobility that fits their on-the-go lifestyle, without sacrificing performance. The system is available with the option of Intel (News - Alert) Core 2 Duo processors, extended batteries and what Dell claims is the industry's fastest mobile broadband technology.
 
The Latitude D430 offers HyperConnect features that enable users to work from virtually anywhere with integrated draft 802.11n wireless connectivity for increased throughput and range enabled by Dell-designed HyperBand antennas that support multi-band wireless performance
 
The D430 notebook also comes with Smart Security solutions engineered to prevent unauthorized access by using smart card, password, biometric readers and TPM 1.2 technologies.
 
Dell’s new Precision workstation comes with robust features sets include next-generation wireless technologies, extended-capacity batteries, the latest OpenGL graphics and the newest Intel processors. The Precision M4300 can provide average performance boosts of up to 110 percent over its predecessors. This computer is geared toward customers who want workstation productivity wherever they are.
