CRM Vendor Infor Offers Green Energy-Tracking Product

Infor has announced the Infor EAM Asset Sustainability Edition, described by company officials as "an enterprise software product that allows organizations to integrate energy consumption and emissions management into their asset management practices."

The product lets organizations "reduce energy costs, while minimizing carbon emissions and the impact of their operations on the environment," company officials claim.

Infor officials say that "established benchmarks" from the U.S. Department of Energy and industry sources "demonstrate" that "facilities and manufacturers can reduce energy consumption up to 20 percent through maintenance programs that focus on energy consumption and efficiency."

The Infor product factors energy consumption into total asset performance. "The software goes beyond just energy management," Infor officials say, factoring in "an asset's consumption of any of the WAGES commodities (water, air, gas, electricity, and steam), as well as monitoring of fugitive emissions, like ozone-depleting refrigerant gases."

Organizations across all sectors face soaring energy costs from basic utilities, such as lighting and HVAC, to manufacturing equipment and refrigeration coolers. Infor EAM Asset Sustainability Edition tracks the consumption of individual assets in real-time, evaluates the data against user-defined conditions, and alerts users to anomalies when assets exceed acceptable performance thresholds.

The product also elevates decision-making by incorporating consumption and emission data into key performance indicators and reports. The software also lets companies benchmark the performance of a specific asset to determine the cost of maintaining it at current energy consumption levels versus replacing it with a more energy-efficient asset.

Early this year at the National Retail Federation 2008 show, CRM vendor Infor announced the latest version of its outbound marketing product, Infor CRM Epiphany Outbound Marketing 7.1, with retail- specific enhancements.

This version let retailers deploy event-based campaigns that "measurably increase sales and customer loyalty," according to company officials.

Infor CRM Epiphany Outbound Marketing 7.1 added features designed to improve its effectiveness for outbound marketing campaigns, including the ability to schedule progressive campaigns.

Many traditional CRM tools, according to Infor officials, are not able to synchronize, in real time, information between the customer database and the event management system to benefit from the marketing opportunities generated by events: "These missed opportunities cost retailers millions in lost sales annually."
