A new study out this week from Nation Computing Centre found that many businesses in the U.K. are ill-prepared when it comes to protecting their VoIP and WiFi networks from attack. This is true even though security threats for such networks are growing.

The study found that 40 percent of respondents have few or no security measures in place to protect their WiFi systems. For those with VoIP, only 15 percent have any security measures at all.

Tektronix has enhanced its GeoProbe Network Assurance solution, part of the Unified Assurance suite of applications for management of next generation converged networks. Leveraging the enhancements network, operators can monitor new interfaces Gb/IP, IuFlex and A-interface over SIGTRAN for IP converged transport networks.

The enhancements to GeoProbe build on the extensive capability of the platform’s ability to perform real-time, multi-protocol, cross-architecture performance monitoring.
