One of the best benefits to Unified Communications (UC) is the ability to seamlessly integrate across platforms to enable streamlined connectivity. While a number of companies promise that their products will deliver on this promise, it always helps when certification is in place. To that end, Fusion has announced that its cloud communications platform is now certified compliant with the interoperability requirements of Mitel.
The term fusion can be defined as the process or result of joining two or more things together to form a single entity. A company taking this to heart is Fusion, having completed five successful acquisitions in the past three years resulting in exponential revenue growth. The 20 year-old firm is a market leader in cloud services, operating in 18 U.S. data centers and will continue to act on its stated goal of growth through acquisition.
As 2016 moves along, it seems that the number of companies looking to support Skype for Business is not slowing down. The latest to throw its hat into the Skype for Business ring is Red Box Recorders, a specialist in voice and data monitoring for compliance. Red Box says it has launched the industry's most comprehensive recording solution for unified communications (UC) in making Quantify compatible with Microsoft's rebranded communications platform.
The new model for UC is embodied by WebRTC, the real-time communications standard established by Google and currently being adopted by the standards bodies, WC3 and IETF. WebRTC connects users in a UC environment with the click of a link. No need for plugins, proprietary software, usernames or cloud services (unless you want add-on functionality such as guaranteed quality of service). WebRTC just works, so users don't have to think about platforms or software when they want to chat by video or share files.
ITEXPO played host to the cutting edge in business transformation technology, and while many in tech see the big getting bigger it is startups that serve as incubators for innovation. In that light, the IDEA Showcase @ITEXPO was welcomed into the show program to celebrate innovation, disruption, evolution and acceleration. This year's flock of seven startups wowed attendees and judges alike, leaving no room for disappointment.
How are you preparing for the millennial workforce? If you're environment is like a lot of others, you've already embraced these individuals with open arms, benefitting from their ease of technology use, demand for an always-on work environment and tendency toward flexible scheduling. It's a whole new approach to work and it demands Unified Communications (UC).
