Azaleos Launches a New Offering for Microsoft OCS

By Raju Shanbhag, TMCnet Contributor

Everybody knows that the unified communication is popular in the corporate sector. Microsoft will vouch for this as many companies have deployed or are planning to deploy its Office Communications Server in their IT infrastructure.

Taking note of this development, Azaleos Corporation has reportedly expanded its managed services for Microsoft (News - Alert) Exchange and SharePoint with a new offering. This new offering rounds out Azaleos’ offerings for the entire Microsoft Unified Communications application server stack.

Azaleos Corporation provides the benefits of hosted e-mail and collaboration services for companies that cannot or will not allow their data to reside outside the datacenter.  The new OCS service from Azaleos provides around the clock, real-time management for customers of Microsoft’s all-in-one platform which includes services such as instant messaging, Internet voice calling, and Web/video conferencing.

“Microsoft Office Communications Server brings together a powerful set of communication and collaboration capabilities on a single IP network, which can boost productivity in a big way but also introduces significant new layers of complexity for IT departments,” said Scott Gode, vice president of marketing and product management for Azaleos, in a statement. “The Azaleos OCS service is designed to eliminate the management challenges – both from an availability and service quality”

Azaleos managed OCS service provides monitoring and management of the IM/presence, web and video conferencing, and intra-enterprise VoIP functions to its customers. These services are available within Microsoft’s real-time unified communications platform. Also, some other key innovations developed by Azaleos for OCS include Expanded SQL Server monitoring capabilities, Azaleos F5 Local Traffic Manager monitoring, Synthetic OCS client functionality for continuous testing and proactive monitoring of communications services and a free OCS educational seminar series.

Recently, Florida law firm Stearns Weaver Miller Weissler Alhadeff & Sitterson, P.A. selected Azaleos to manage its e-mail. The law firm has replaced its Novell Groupwise installation with the company’s remotely managed e-mail services for Microsoft Exchange and BlackBerry (News - Alert) Enterprise Server. Stearns Weaver is a full service law firm with more than 120 attorneys serving clients throughout Florida and nationwide.
