SMiLOUS Taps TelcoBridges for Carrier Grade Tmedia Solution

European service provider SMiLOUS has selected TelcoBridges, a supplier of hardware and software for telecom system integrators and solution developers, to support its managed switching and global Meet-me-Room solutions. 

 

 

Its "Telco Village" is a global "Meet-me-Room" and managed switching solution tht lets companies communicate and collaborate, regardless of distance. The solution is offered on a rented capacity basis, so a long-term contract isn’t needed, according to the firm.

 

The company’s Telco Village solution offers three core switching centers in London, Frankfurt and Hong Kong.  The network also features 40+ POPs at locations worldwide. SMiLOUS handles all of the backend work, including points of presence, network, switching, routing and billing, so customers can avoid negotiating contracts or dealing with a network.

SMiLOUS selected TelcoBridges’ (News - Alert) hardware because of its high-density, high-availability, Christos Omiridis, managing director for SMiLOUS, said in a statement.

 

“Today, more and more businesses are using  SMiLOUS’s global Meet-me-Room services to boost productivity, reduce travel costs, and leverage the skills of remote workers,” said Danny Paul Blouin, vice president of marketing for TelcoBridges, in a statement.

 

TelcoBridges recently unveiled the Tdev TMP800, a multi-service development platform to help solutions developers to develop and deploy telecommunications services for their customers. As TMCnet reported, the TMP800, offers media handling functionality, including SS7 signaling. The technology allows bridging of TDM and IP networks, and intermediate between wireless, TDM and IP voice networks.

 

The company was also honored with the Prize of Excellence for International Markets by the Chambre de Commerce et d'Industrie de la Rive-Sud (CCIRS). TelcoBridges earned the award for demonstrating excellent results in sales and marketing, as well as operations efficiency; its  human resources strategies; growth of sales in international markets; market penetration; development investments; economic benefit; achievements and overall financial health, as TMCnet reported. It was also named Company of the Year.

 

It’s not the only award the company has received. Earlier this year, TelcoBridges’ Tmedia TMG 3200 was recently was named a winner of INTERNET TELEPHONY’s Product of the Year Award. Mark St-Onge, director of sales support for TelcoBridges, spoke with Erik Linask (News - Alert), TMC’s group editorial director, at ITEXPO East in Miami about the platform.
