UPEK Joins Initiative for Open Authentication (OATH) as Coordinating Member; Membership Reflects UPEK's Strategic Vision to Deliver Strong and Open Authentication for User and Network Access
BERKELEY, Calif. --(Business Wire)-- June 5, 2006 -- UPEK, Inc., the world's leading brand of biometric fingerprint security solutions, today announced that it has joined the Initiative for Open Authentication (OATH), a consortium of leading device, platform and security application companies, to contribute to a growing industry-wide vision of common authentication solutions for open, yet secure, network access. Participating at the coordinating member level, UPEK joins companies focused on open standards-based authentication, including AOL, IBM, Entrust, Verisign, and others.
