IVCi Forms Customer Telepresence Solutions DivisionBy Shamila Janakiraman, TMCnet Contributor IVCi, LLC, an integrator of high-definition video conferencing, telepresence, audio visual systems and managed conferencing services, announced that it has formed a “Customer Telepresence (News - Alert) Solutions” division.
IVCi said that it provides custom-designed telepresence rooms by incorporating TANDBERG’s T1 and T3, Polycom’s (News - Alert) ATX and Cisco’s TelePresence products.
“We are proud to announce the formation of a business unit that provides customized telepresence solutions for our clients,” said IVCi President Bob Swing, who founded the company. “The CTS (News - Alert) division was developed because many of our customers have special requirements, yet telepresence systems have traditionally been one-size-fits-all. The CTS team draws upon our audio visual expertise to help us meet each customer’s unique needs.”
The CTS division conducts detailed assessments of specific needs of the client and then designs custom solutions by collaborating with manufacturers. CTS builds the optimized solution besides providing ongoing service and support.
Charlie Macli, EVP of sales and marketing at IVCi, confirmed that since its formation CTS has successfully completed telepresence designs for several enterprises. It has installed custom telepresence designs according to the requirements of room and audience size. It has even installed a telepresence system in a corporate training amphitheatre which is capable of supporting more than 60 people.
“The creation of the CTS division is a natural extension of our audio visual integration expertise, which allows us to continue to innovate and find new applications for telepresence,” said Macli.
Custom telepresence solutions are used by businesses and increasingly by educational institutions and government agencies. Some custom applications provided by IVCi include virtual runways for clothing manufacturers, war rooms for government and corporate training rooms.
