Escaux Brings Unified Communications to Google Android

Escaux, a European unified communications software provider for SMB and enterprise customers has a new mobile UC solution which allows Asterisk to Interop (News - Alert) with multiple IP and cellular phone types. For example, Nokia and Polycom are some of the currently supported devices and Android is the latest addition to the family of mobile devices supported.

 

Before I go further I should mention the company's net.Console is an advanced switchboard app while net.Supervisor is a call center dashboard for supervisors. The solution has cross platform support for Macs, Vista, XP and Linux desktop.

The system utilizes presence to enable users to stay connected when available and alerts can be set to notify you when another person is available. In addition, it allows chat sessions between Android devices and net.Desktop on a PC.

 

"Our Open UC platform already integrates with and provides handsfree configuration of mobile devices like the Nokia (News - Alert) E-series running the Symbian OS,” said Jordi Nelissen, co-founder of ESCAUX.

 

“The integration with Google Android powered devices such as the HTC (News - Alert) G1 brings us to the next level in convenient Mobile Unified Communication. It took us very little time to develop a first beta release, thanks to the portable nature of our software and the excellent match with the Android OS. We are convinced that our final release will be ready before this very powerful Smartphone becomes generally available on the European Market”.

 

Based in Waver (Brussels), Europe, the company's ESCAUX net.PBX was a recent recipient of the 2008 Product of the Year Award by TMC's (News - Alert) INTERENT TELEPHONY magazine.
