Jitterbit Eases Salesforce.com Integration to Enhance Customer BenefitBy Susan J. Enhanced to benefit customers, these integrations include Tides, Logic Communications and RentGrow.
Jitterbit has plans to showcase these solutions at Dreamforce, salesforce.com's sixth annual user and developer conference held Nov. 2-5 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. A nonprofit agency promoting healthy and just societal changes, Tides is among the many customers leveraging Jitterbit’s robust and reliable open source platform. In doing so, the company is able to overcome salesforce.com integration challenges. "Companies are increasingly recognizing the need to effectively link salesforce.com with existing applications," said Sharam Sasson, Jitterbit chairman and CEO, in a Monday statement.
"Jitterbit's industry-leading open source integration platform and easy-to-use graphical interface allows organizations of all sizes to create custom, enterprise-class data and application integrations for salesforce.com."
Tides sought to improve overall customer and constituent solutions and therefore replaced their outdated, disparate and highly customized CRM and financial management applications. In turning to a unified platform, Tides was left with the challenge of sharing data between the new financial applications and the salesforce.com platform. To ensure that salesforce.com could continue to serve as Tides’ self-service portal for clients, it was necessary to integrate it with other applications in order to provide a real-time view on financial, human resources and other relevant data in one convenient location. "As an organization devoted to creating infrastructure for social change nonprofits, we are concerned about the cost of technology, so finding a low-cost and, ideally, open source solution were among our highest priorities," said Erika Bjune, vice president of Information Technology at Tides, in the Monday statement.
"Since our financial system sits on SQL Server 2005, finding a solution that supported Web services was also important. And finally, we needed a solution that our small IT group could learn to extend and maintain that did not require use of expensive third-party consultants.
"Jitterbit was the ideal solution because it is an open source utility with support options that included consulting services that could get us started and trained on the tool and help to set up our initial connections at a very reasonable cost," Bjune added.
Jitterbit is able to facilitate scheduled and real-time data delivery between Tides’ major information platforms. It also makes possible one of the most customized implementations among salesforce.com’s nonprofit customer base. "Jitterbit's graphical interface means our in-house database developer can continue customizing data communications between our growing suite of new enterprise applications moving forward," Bjune said. "Jitterbit has become the final piece of every puzzle for us when moving data between systems and connecting information in new and creative ways." Jitterbit has done well to identify a niche that not only delivers an essential value for customers, it also expands on the brand power of salesforce.com.
