Capcom Picks Cisco Unified Communications, Improves Employee Efficiency

By Jayashree Adkoli, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Capcom, a developer of interactive entertainment, has deployed Cisco’s (News - Alert) Unified Communications (UC) with the goal to improve its employee efficiency and as well enhance its voice communications. With Cisco’s UC solution, the Capcom has improved the coordination of its phones, PCs, and presence, thereby reducing its workload that was required for setting up and maintaining its telephone system.

Cisco’s UC systems bring together voice, video, data, and mobile applications, in order to liberate employees from their desktop and as well improve business operations and profitability. Technologies such as Voice over IP (VoIP), IP telephony, multimedia conferencing, communications applications, and intelligent networks that facilitate significant cost savings and productivity benefits - are all integrated and coordinated together to bring more flexibility to the systems.

According to Cisco, its UC systems can integrate with both existing and IP-based telephony systems and helps companies to migrate at their own pace. They also enables workers to communicate effectively wherever they are by creating a unified workspace encompassing fine combination of applications, devices, networks, and operating systems.

Capcom said it has got both convenience and call quality of phone communications improved along with increased employee efficiency, after deploying Cisco UC systems. Capcom employees can now look up phone numbers and can as well place overseas calls even to phone extensions instantly, thereby improving the phone communications.

With Cisco’s UC systems, there is no need to update or correct the phone directory as and when the Capcom employee seating arrangement changes. The new IP phone system updates and corrects the phone numbers when an employee moves to a different desk, thereby considerably easing the maintenance workload of the company.

Osaka, Japan-based Capcom is not only a developer of interactive entertainment but also publishes and distributes interactive entertainment for game consoles, PCs, handheld and wireless devices.
