CallWave Intros iPhone App for Enterprise Unified Communications

By Stefania Viscusi, Assignment Desk Editor

In a bid to make it possible for iPhone (News - Alert) carrying business users to experience the same collaboration and productivity capabilities as in the office, CallWave, a global provider of mobile and Web-based unified communications solutions, has announced a new application for the Apple (News - Alert) iPhone.

With the WebMessenger Mobile Application from CallWave, mobile users can take advantage of messaging, conferencing and telephony capabilities directly from their smartphone

The latest version includes Microsoft's Office Communications Server (OCS) which allows users to manage all real-time communications like instant messaging, VoIP and audio and video conferencing as well as allows for presence, uniting all contact info stored in the Active Directory.

Mobile professionals taking advantage of this application on their iPhone can ensure collaboration and productivity even out in the field.

"Users want more choice, and enterprises want to give them greater communication capabilities by extending their communications infrastructure to their iPhones," said Joe Naylor, senior vice president of sales, CallWave (News - Alert).

"Companies are investing in Microsoft OCS and need to support mobile workers using iPhones. WebMessenger (News - Alert) Mobile for the Apple iPhone answers the call by helping business professionals work wherever, whenever and however they choose."

CallWave also announced today the beta version of Fuze, a new mobile and Web-based collaboration service.

Fuze is an interoperable browser-based collaboration service, allowing meetings to be conducted in high-definition (HD) video, and with documents and images shared in sync over computers or mobile devices like smartphones. Currently, the beta version of Fuze supports BlackBerry (News - Alert) and Nokia devices

INTERNET TELEPHONY Conference & EXPO — the biggest and most comprehensive IP communications event of the year — is going on this week (September 16-18, 2008) in Los Angeles, California! The show features three valuable days of exhibits, conferences, and networking opportunities you can’t afford to miss.
