miCTA Names PAETEC Approved National Vendor for VoIP and IP Services

The nationwide group purchasing organization MiCTA named PAETEC an approved national vendor for VoIP and IP services.

PAETEC (News - Alert) also won an endorsed national designation for fixed wireless, specialty business communications and direct equipment purchases. As per the agreement, PAETEC will provide products and services to MiCTA members through 2012.

Tim von Hoff, chief operating officer of MiCTA, welcomed PAETEC as an approved national vendor for VoIP and IP networking services and noted that company offers a variety of telecommunications and networking services.

The agreement between the two companies will deliver a combination of service, value and price to their members.

PAETEC was selected as an endorsed national VoIP, IP and technology vendor as the result of

MiCTA's highly competitive bidding process, which is designed to evaluate technology-oriented and telecommunications solutions on behalf of its nationwide membership. All members of MiCTA are eligible to purchase these products and services at significant discounts.

In addition, MiCTA contracts enable members to eliminate the need to conduct individual bidding processes.

Rick Cunningham, vice president of PAETEC's Industry Solutions, said that several of its solutions over the past decade were designed with the needs of government and university customers, like MiCTA members, in mind. He added that his company is glad to further expand its long-standing relationship in serving MiCTA members.

"Our members value the wide range of service offerings and vendor choices MiCTA provides. We look forward to working with PAETEC to help our members realize substantial savings on telecommunications and networking services."

PAETEC CFO Chris Hasenauer spoke at ITEXPO (News - Alert) Monday in a session entitled “Making the Business Case for SIP Trunking in the SMB,” which discusses the business case for SIP trunking. Participants explored deployment scenarios, the flexibility it provides and the cost-savings that can be realized through its implementation.
