Sangoma CEO to Discuss Open Source Telephony at ITEXPO West 2010

Sangoma Technologies, a provider of IP telephony solutions including data cards, voice cards, gateways and connectivity software used in leading PBX (News - Alert), IVR, contact center and data-communication applications worldwide, is taking part in the ITEXPO West 2010 conference happening this week, Oct. 4 to 6 in Los Angeles, Calif.

Today, Sangoma CEO Bill Wignall will take part in, “Open Source Telephony for Everything BUT an IP PBX,” at 1:15-2:00pm. This session will highlight the growth of open source as a replacement for traditional proprietary PBX systems and the benefits provided by the technology’s ability to adapt to other applications.

Wignall will also be joined by Jeff Dworkin, Enterprise Marketing Manager, Dialogic (News - Alert) Corporation and Darren Schreiber, CEO at 2600hz to discuss the flexibility of open source as more than an IP PBX and its relevance in a cloud communications environment.

Wignall will also present during, “I Didn't Know You Could do That with Open Source: A Technology Focus.”  This session, happening today at 2:15-3:00pm, will focus on the confusion around open source and any questions about its applicability to growing communications trends, such as video communications.

During the session Wingall, Jeff Dworkin and Jason Goecke, vice president of Innovation at Voxeo (News - Alert) Labs, will uncover the many applications of open source beyond telephony, including not only video, but also carrier capable signaling and scale and will discuss distribution in an open source environment.
