Colorado State University's Dr. Ronald Sega Delivers Keynote Address at Smart Grid Summit Conference in Miami

NORWALK, Conn. --(Business Wire)-- Technology Marketing Corporation (TMC (News - Alert)) and Intelligent Communications Partners (ICP) today announced that Dr. Ronald Sega, the Vice President for Energy, Environment, and Applied Research for Colorado State University, will share his thoughts on energy and the environment, in a keynote address to the audiences of their Smart Grid Summit in Miami, Florida.




Dr. Sega's address, which is open to all Smart Grid Summit attendees, will take place Wednesday, January 20 at 9:00am. Smart Grid Summit is collocated with TMC's ITEXPO (News - Alert), the leading conference and trade show for the communications technology industry.

Sega, who flew aboard two space shuttle missions, is now the Woodward Professor of Systems Engineering at Colorado State University and is the Vice President for Energy, Environment and Applied Research with Colorado State University's Research Foundation. He serves as special advisor to the Colorado State University president for energy and the environment.

He has previously served as Under Secretary of the Air Force, from 2005-2007, where he led the Air Force team that won the overall Presidential Award for Leadership in Federal Energy Management for 2006. From 2001-2005, Ronald served as Director of Defense Research and Engineering, and he was also Chief Technology Officer for the Department of Defense. After serving in the Air Force Space Command and as a pilot for 31 years, Ronald retired from the Air Force Reserve in 2005 as a Major General, in the position of reserve assistant to the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

A former astronaut, Sega flew aboard Space Shuttles Discovery (1994) and Atlantis (1996). Since 1982, he has also been a faculty member in the College of Engineering and Applied Science at Colorado University at Colorado Springs, serving as dean from 1996-2001. Dr. Sega holds a B.S. in math and physics from the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, an M.S. in physics from the Ohio State University and a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Colorado.
