NET Receives JITC Interoperability Certification
By Shamila Janakiraman, TMCnet Contributing Editor
Network Equipment Technologies (News - Alert) (NET) announced that it has successfully completed a Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) Interoperability Certification for its VX 900 VoIP Gateway. This software release is 4.3.5 of version 55 for Tactical Network Element (T-NE) and Strategic Network Element (S-NE).
The VX900 is most suitable and is widely used by the Army, Air Force, Marines, Navy, JCSE, SOCOM and other joint commands.
JITC certification can be obtained only after the VX900 has passed both the Interoperability (IO) Certification and Information Assurance (IA) Accreditation. The successful certification process entails a product to be included to the Defense Information System Agency’s (DISA) Approved products List.
All voice networking equipment should have the DISA’s JITC certification especially when connecting to the U.S. Department of Defense core network. This requirement took the form of a law in December 2002 after the signing of the Public Law 107-314, PDF SEC 353 (S348/H354).
“NET’s (News - Alert) products are deployed in many government networks,” commented Gary Lau, general manager of NET’s Federal Group.
“Completion of these certifications, and acceptance on DISA’s Approved Products List, assures our clients and government agencies that our communication equipment will perform flawlessly in all their mission critical applications. Obtaining the JITC certifications is not only essential for deployments within the Defense Switched Network, but also for other customers who require secure communications solutions with proven reliability under extreme conditions,” added Lau.
Network Equipment Technologies (NET) has several years of experience in providing voice and data communications equipment for multi-service networks. These networks require high degrees of versatility, interoperability, security and performance.
