Interactive Intelligence's CIC Certified for Use by Department of Defense

By Susan J. Campbell, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Interactive Intelligence (News - Alert) all-in-one communications software suite has been certified by the Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC) for use by the Department of Defense.

The JITC certification ensures that solutions meet the requirements of the Department’s telecom and network security configuration, information assurance and interoperability requirements.

“With its JITC certification, the Interactive Intelligence software offers the Department of Defense and federal agencies worldwide the benefits of a faster sales cycles and shorter deployment time with no additional testing or exceptions needed,” said Joe Brookman, CEO of Brookman LLC, a Rockville, Maryland firm specializing in government technology services, in a Monday statement.

Software from Interactive Intelligence also received JTIC certification for compatibility with Department of Defense computers access cards – a federal government security requirement as of 2009.

“Interactive Intelligence is the only CPE vendor to-date whose software is certified for use with DoD electronic ID cards, thus further simplifying sales cycles and deployments,” Brookman said.

Customer Interaction Center (CIC) – the JITC-certified Interactive Intelligence software, offers open, single-platform architecture with inherent multi-channel processing to deliver comprehensive applications, including skills-based routing, interactive voice response, call recording, unified messaging and more. One of its perks is that this solution eliminates the cost and complexity introduced by multi-point products.

“With more than 1,700 security specifications, JITC-certification often takes up to 18 months, but we were able to complete CIC testing in only six months because of its unique standards-based, single-platform architecture,” Brookman continued.

“This architecture, particularly its deep integration to Microsoft (News - Alert) components such as Active Directory and Office Communications Server, not only facilitated testing, but means reduced integration requirements and management complexity for federal government customers.”

CIC is also built to support the secure real-time transport protocol and transport layer security standards to provide end-to-end call encryption.

“For years we’ve brought unique value to government customers by offering them a single-platform, all-in-one communications software suite designed to eliminate the cost and complexity associated with integrating and managing multi-point products,” said Interactive Intelligence founder and CEO, Dr. Donald E. Brown, in the Monday statement.

“With our JITC certification, we’ve added to this value by making it even easier for government departments to buy and deploy our software.”

The certification by the JITC not only opens the door to increased opportunity for Interactive Intelligence as far as the Department of Defense is concerned, this certification can also better position the company in future competitive situations.

For focusing on eliminating the cost and complexity usually association with multi-point products, Interactive Intelligence is creating a better value for customers when considering its product. As the intensity of the competition continues to grow, such distinction will put the company in a class all its own.
