The Key to VoIP Survival? Innovation

VIP2phone is a provider of VoIP solutions for resellers, businesses and call centers, focused in Latin America and North America. The company's main product lines consist of a completely Private Label VoIP Solution to Resellers and VoIP Solutions to Call Centers and Businesses. Carlos A. Fonseca is President & CEO of VIP2Phone ( News - Alert). The company will be exhibiting at next week’s ITEXPO. I had the chance to catch up with Fonseca and ask him several questions regarding the IP communications industry.
RT: What has been your company’s biggest achievement in 2007?
CF: Vip2phone has optimized the quality of its voice service through strategic alliances with service providers of national and international recognition and the optimization of its VoIP platform.
RT: What can we expect to see from your company in 2008?
CF: Our company will have an exponential growth in Latin America since we have developed the necessary Web tools so our clients can obtain and achieve commercial growth by having absolute control of all their operation.
RT: How do you see the communications market evolving?
CF: Definitely, the communications business has a prominent future since it has allowed the reduction of costs considerably, considering the costs of operation in countries in Latin America where the demand for call centers and of VoIP solutions, has allowed the creation of new jobs and has generated great gains to the businesses related to this union.
RT: How have present, SIP and video changed your business?
CF: Not much really. Our company has used the latest complete trends in VoIP from its beginnings and we always wanted to use state-of-art technology that allowed the development of the business over the course of several years without incurring in major changes that usually generates turmoil in the middle of the evolution process of a company.
RT: How do you think the future of the market looks?
CF: The future is imminent. Any type of technological business needs will considerably reduce costs of operation and this will raise interest daily on the part of investors and businesses owners.
RT: Are you growing more quickly in the U.S. or abroad?
CF: Our company is focused on the Latin American market and without a doubt with each passing day, we have guessed in the right direction on this approach due to the continuous interest on the part of businesses in Latin America in becoming involved with the VoIP technology.
RT: Do you see the large service providers like Verizon, AT&T (News - Alert) and cable companies as allies or enemies?
CF: In the case of VIP2Phone, it is not a threat since VIP2Phone, goes out to a very different clientele and geographically located outside the United States.
RT: Is open source software changing your corporate strategy?
CF: By all means. A great part of our platform is based on Open Source and this community allows the adaptation of technology continuously, allowing for the flexibility of the process and the overwhelming expectation of the final user.
RT: How about hosted solutions?
CF: There is nothing more cost effective and in the best interest of a company than not having to invest in hardware, software, physical circuits or expensive equipment. Hosted solutions are the wave of the future and will continue exponentially to grow since it facilitates the growth of businesses avoiding great investments in human resources, hardware and software.
RT: What do you think the communications market might look like in five years?
CF: In five years the market will be flooded with VoIP products and services that will allow people and companies to compare and select from a vast number of suppliers. This will benefit the consumer but will put in disadvantage all of us who are in the industry of VoIP. The best way to subsist is by having innovated products or services.
RT: What will attendees see in your booth at ITEXPO (News - Alert) this month?
CF: The best possibility of immediately initiate a business to offer VoIP solutions to its clients in their countries.
RT: What sorts of companies should come to your exhibit?
CF: Call Centers, Resellers, Call Shops and Businesses.
RT: Why should customers choose your company’s solutions?
CF: We have the best software so that our clients can organize their business and grow gradually without problems. All the options that they need are included in the Web application suite that we offer.
RT: Please make one surprising prediction for 2008.
CF: 2008 will bring greater opportunities to expand businesses at an international level through the diverse VoIP solutions, and it is there where a supplier of Voice of IP like VIP2Phone, where the necessary tools to operate anywhere in the World without restrictions, will continue to grow for years to come. The evolution of Call Centers is incredibly exponential in Latin America and behind this evolution VIP2Phone will be without doubt.
