Tadiran Launches Coral Sentinel Pro for VoIP Security
By Anuradha Shukla, TMCnet Contributing Editor
Tadiran ( News - Alert) Telecom has launched Coral Sentinel Pro, its latest VoIP security product that addresses data security issues associated with VoIP phone calls.
Tadiran’s Coral Sentinel Pro is a SIP-compliant Session Boarder Controller (SBC ) unit. This new VoIP security product allows Tadiran's IP/VoIP business telephones to work anywhere, without sacrificing an organization's data security.
Tadiran's Chief Technology Officer Gil Zaidman explained that when it comes to security, corporate and government enterprises today are faced with some very tough decisions that will have major affects on their overall IP implementation strategies, including VoIP.
Although new voice and video services over the LAN and WAN allow small offices, branches or employees working from home to seamlessly communicate using VoIP technology, the protocols used to enable these services conflict with two of the most notable network security mechanism: Fire walls and NATs.
A March 2007 In-Stat ( News - Alert) reported that implementing IP convergence/VoIP is among the highest telecom priorities in 2007 across all sizes of business. In-Stat said that the drive in demand for IP solutions will also drive the need for VoIP security solutions. Tadiran points out they are helping businesses and organizations of all sizes migrate to the world of IP in stages, all while continuing to leverage existing networks and legacy investments, and avoiding network data security issues.
“Our Coral Sentinel Pro is a unique Session Boarder Controller unit that provides an additional security level along with fire walls. It also allows NAT traversal between different LANs. Now our customers can take their IP phones anywhere to make calls without any security concerns and without the need for VPN connections,” said Zaidman in a statement.
