Cantata's IMG 1010 VoIP Gateway Deployed in Netline Telecommunicaciones Network

By Rahul Prabhakar, TMCnet Contributing Editor

Cantata Technology, a provider of communications technology, recently deployed its IMG 1010 Integrated Media and Signaling VoIP Gateway (News - Alert) within Netline Telecomunicaciones’ global broadband IP telephony network.

Netline Telecomunicaciones, a communications service provider in the Latin-American region, is accelerating the deployment of new revenue-yielding, prepaid broadband telephony services and applications via its VoIP network. Among other benefits, the IMG 1010 gateways will help the company reduce its operating expenses.

To successfully choose and deploy its new gateways, Netline collaborated with Cantata partner and systems integrator GlobalThink Technoloyg.

After assessing various media gateway technologies offered by competing vendors, GlobalThink whittled down to IMG 1010 as the most suitable carrier-grade VoIP gateway and/or VoIP transcoder for Netline’s network.

“Netline Telecomunicaciones’ mission is to become a provider of global technology solutions, while setting the standard in innovation and customer service,” Joel Bendersky, president at Netline, said in a statement. “Deployment of Cantata’s IMG 1010, with its unique, scalable embedded SS7 solution, represents a key component of our network and allows us to rapidly develop and deploy enhanced, lucrative prepaid applications.”

Bendersky continued: “I have been extremely impressed by the service and support provided by Cantata and I anticipate a future deployment of its MSP 1010, a small-footprint media resource platform with complementary signaling capabilities,” Bendersky added.”

The IMG 1010 gateway is equipped with feature-rich SS7 and VoIP capabilities that combine flexibility and reliability needed to support various services across global fixed and mobile networks.

“In addition to the advanced and flexible capabilities, another key selection criterion in working with Cantata was the IMG 1010’s ability to seamlessly interoperate with our GBILL billing solution, a real-time billing and customer care solution for prepaid, post-paid for voice, data and content,” said Diego Ghione, CEO at GlobalThink Technology, in a statement.

Ghione added: “This allows GlobalThink to offer a complete turnkey solution to immediately begin delivering revenue to its customers.”

Timothy Murray, CEO at Cantata, had this to say: “The IMG 1010 empowers any-to-any network connectivity, and provides a new level of density, integration and transcoding on a future-proof platform that can evolve as services evolve. Netline Telecomunicaciones will find this functionality invaluable as it expands its broadband IP telephony network throughout Latin America.”
